We're working on an email solution, but we're a bit busy with some performance related stuff (we've got a ton of hardware we're working to slide in without downtime). We know the control panel isn't the best, but we wanted to do something a little more than just post to Dgrin this time around.

Stay tuned, hopefully we'll have something in place very soon. :)

    Maintenance complete!
Thanks for your patience everyone, we're done!

To recap what we did tonight:
    - Replaced our old, tired load balancer with a new redundant pair
The older unit occasionally maxed out its CPU under high traffic, our new units will have plenty of headroom.
    - Added 5 new web servers to the pool
We still have more to install, but we're going to work hard to do that without further downtime. Thanks again for your patience!

We will be upgrading network components during the Thursday night 9/14/06 Thursday maintenance window (11:00pm to 04:00am PDT). ....

wings.gif That's Customer Service! SmugMug listens....and ACTS upon...feedback. Good job.

I should point out, though, that notice went up on the 12th. I know I went to my SmugMug site several times (I may have even logged into Dgrin a time or too)...even logged-in several times between the 12th and this morning (the 16th) and did not notice the "notice" until just a few minutes ago.

Perhaps I'm "blind as a bat", and sometimes not much brighter than one.

Now I think I know what to look for, but might I suggest highlighting, blinking, different color, larger font, dancing logo, or some other means of making the notice, or the notice of a notice, jump off the page so it can't be overlooked.

Thanks, Smugmug, I think this was a HUGE step.
