SmugMug Internal Errors When Uploading

I'm still in my trial period of SmugMug Pro, but I've been having some trouble uploading photos.

My files are fairly large, full size from Nikon D50, and I keep getting a message along the lines of 70 images were not uploaded do to internal errors. Is this a common problem or are my files too big or am I uploading too many at once?

Even with hi-speed it's taking a long time to upload so I try to upload a bunch while I'm at work or when I'm sleeping. I mean it gives me time estimates of 4-10 hours depending on the number of files.:dunno

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

Hi Phyxius, welcome to Dgrin and SmugMug. Lots of things can affect this but first, a link to your site please?

    Couple things to check:

We allow up to 8mb files for standard and power customers. 16mb files for pro customers. 48 megapixels (e.g., 6000px by 8000px or smaller) for all customers.

    Let us know, thanks!

Hi Andy, the link is http://www.phyxius.smugmug.com.

The standard image size is 2000px by 3008px and I believe they're all between 2.5M and 3M. So I'm well within size limits, I need a "bigger" camera thumb.gif

When I check the upload log it shows a thumbnail of each picture and upload information. By the pictures that do not upload I get the error message that they could not load because of a SmugMug internal error and no bytes received. All images are formated as .jpg.

Thank you for the welcome too; and I'm sorry, I just realized that this should have gone in the SmugMug Support thread instead of the SmugMug Pro Sales.

OK so far so good. Now, what uploader, and what browser and version are you using? The files you are uploading should upload just fine, so we have to dig further.

Also, are you running any adblocking, accelerator software, toolbars, or firewalls?

I WAS using IE 6.0 and the IE only uploader since it's the only one I could get to work. I've just downloaded FireFox and I'm going to give the drag and drop uploader a shot tonight and will report tomorrow :)

No adblocking, accelerator or additional toolbars. I do have Norton, but the firewall is set to stealth blocked ports and allows all connections except suspected attacks. However the uploader would upload like 62 out of 93, it wasn't that a connection wasn't being made.

Hopefully trying the new browser and new uploader will solve the problem, maybe?

Okay! So I tried the drag and drop with FireFox twice. Once last night and again early this morning. Both times I got an error message of "File upload interrupted; java.net.connect;Except connection refused;connect."

So, I installed the Windows XP uploader and set it to upload approx 60 files while I was at work and I just checked up on it. It appears to have uploaded all files without errors, but I'll check to be 100% sure when I get home. It looks like everything is good and if it is I'm definatly sending a donation to the program writer!

    Thanks Again,
    Christina
