Loosing my virginity(first photo contest)....

I am planning to enter my first photo competition this month. It is sponsored by a local photo club and will be displayed at city hall. I have had a passion for photography for some time, but have never felt confident enough about my work to have it judged by anyone other than friends or family. I know what I like, but I need some unbiased opinions of what a judge might like.

I am entering one photo in a scenic/landscape category, and one in a people category. I am trying to choose the best of three of my photos in each category. They can be seen on my website jameslippitt.com under the gallery titled Contest. I would sure appreciate any feedback you could give me!

    Jim i edited your link as it had www in twice thus dead link. Takes people right to your contest gallery now. Im with the tree's/fog & kid chasing the bird also..great shots thumb.gif

    Definitely the Trees in the Fog for he landscape, although I love the others, too! I am leaning towards the Curiosity (turtle) for the people. I am not viewing these on a very good monitor so it is difficult to tell. Very nice shots though, good luck....I think you have a really great chance! mwink.gif

    OK, I'll go half way against the trend. Really like Golden light. Nice textures IMO. Trees in the fog is #2. Boy chasing the bird is great.
