I like the second one better as overall, but it's really a shot of just her with him as background, so the first one is better for the challenge as it really shows them working together. Maybe work on the levels on the first one to try and get it to really pop the way the second one does - it just seems a bit flat. Darken the background perhaps to get the dancers to pop?
It's taking me a while to look though the shots I have and really see them in the context of this challenge. Unfortunately, the company is in the early stages of preparing for it's fall performances, so I didn't get large groups working together perfectly as they would closer to a performance.
I really didn't want to give up on that first image. It shows them working hard together. It shows so much ballet experience and training in a simple pose (instead of a breathtaking leap or spin).
So I took inspiration for Nik. But instead of converting to B&W, I went for a brighter, more stylized, higher contrast color version. Looks a lot better to me than the original. Opinions?

Nice work, though, I like 'em.

I like the second one more. More pop, but it also has more of a sense of accidental synchronicity, which I like. It has more interest for me.

This is a very good image. For the challenge, this would have been a winner, if you had been able to retain the guys up-raised had to mirror her's.
In this one, the missing hands don't matter - they are synchronized. The rest of the image is nicely balanced between him and her.
Of the three in this thread, I would use the last, but DavidTO's comment about accidental synchronicity has a lot of merit.

My favorite so far from a compositional point of view. Great photos.
