My old sm_tool.py script is no longer working this am, but some newer things I have that use newer versions of the API do work. Has something changed in the last few days? Have I missed something?

I found that I not only had to update to the beta 1.1.1 version, but also had to use the curl version of python's transport mechanism to get it working again.

So, was there a change? If so, I guess I'll finally have to update the python script to work with the new interfaces.

OK, in fact the only thing I had to do to get the old script working again was to switch over to the curl based htmlrpc implementation in python.

The problem comes during authentication. Without curl, the login just fails.

Clues? I guess I'd like not to require that users of this script have pycurl installed.

Now none of my API scripts can connect. What's going on?

[Edit: oops, saw that all of SM is down for emergency maintenance. Maybe the whole problem will go away after that?]
