Except I don't have any money until early Feb when I do my taxes, myself, first off. That is how I got the Rebel. Now my soul is not at rest. This is like owning a boat. Trade up, trade up...........it is the way of the sport.
Now as to the 20D?

Oh, and congratulations on whatever it is that you have in your hands, smile.

by this time tomorrow, i should have the canon 1Ds Mark II in my hands
i couldn't stand it any more. full-frame!
oh lordy....
That's the best news I have heard in a long time! You have set me, as well as many other free. When you were using the Rebel we just had to admit we couldn't match your quality. Bad for the self esteem you know. Now however, We have an out. I can clearly state "My pictures would be as good as Andy's, if I had the 1Ds Mark II".
Unless someone with a wierd philanthropic bent wants to send me a 1Ds Mark II you will never be able to prove otherwise.
Who here can guess when Andy will buy his next camera. I'm guessing January 4th.

I have enjoyed Sam's take on this Good Luck of Andy's. Of course, he could not expect us to take photos as good as his now. His equipment is so much better.
On the other hand, I have thought, OH DEAR, the better his equipment gets, as he gets used to it, he will forget............before. And then what? Of course, if we only used a tripod, RAW, correct settings, etc., our results would equal his, or be doable, at least.
One solution would be to keep the playing field even, every time Andy gets a camera, he buys all of us the same camera, we would have no excuses, Andy would have no unrealistic expectations.

Wow Andy!! - Business must be good at Moon River! I thought I was the guy with the L glass addiction!
Now I will be jealous of you!! - I wonder if there is any market for a slightly used 1DMKii?

I have been impressed with all of your pictures taken with the Sony 828 to the 20D. Very interested to see the difference with the 1Ds-MKII.

That computer (Sony 2.4GHZ) is going to be a little taxed with raw files from this cam.
