Shock sensor trigger for photography

This fellow describes and demonstrates simple shock sensors (piezo speaker elements), amplified (simple circuit description and images) and used to trigger an electronic flash for stop-action photography.
Very interesting stuff.
Be very careful duplicating his efforts, because he is playing with broken glass. I imagine the same setup could be used for other projects as well, like water drops and other deflection/distortion projects.
