Anyone ever used the ultra-compact Cullman Monopod:

Any idea how the 9 sections work with only 1 flip lock? Looks like it is too good to be true!

I have not tried that one but I did get a semi-compact one at Best Buy (they also sell it at Circuit City) for about $20 that might be worth checking out. I don't recall the brand, but it was the only monopod either of them sold (and being impatient I bought it). It's not bad so far, has a sorta quick release ball head thingy and shrinks down to about 13 or 14 inches (expands to 5 feet). Great price however :)

I'm not too sure how well it works but the specs say it will only hold 2.5 lbs so that wouldn't be much of a lens you could put on it.

depending on how talll you are, you might not want one that only extends to five feet - - - I know that's the usual length and stuff, but they do have longer ones, and that's what I'm planning on getting. at 6'1, I don't want to bend down to look through the view finder EVERYTIME I want to take a picture. just my thought process.
