I just decided that I want to take this photography hobbie to the next level, the higher one, and I want to study it as professional career, and I'm glad I took this decision because that's how I want to make a living in the future, I want to live from my very own passion.
The problem is that I don't have lots of money, and I live in Guatemala, Central America, and I will like to know what can I do to apply for a scholarship in the united states to study this beautiful art, I have a Visa, where do I go to get the INFO or what do I have to do to apply to one, I need all of your recomendations, and let me know from someone that has gone through all of this, thank you very much, you're helping me with my future.

There are two basic types of scholarships: A) Merit based; Financial Based. A merit based scholarship doesn't care if you are rich or poor ... it will be awarded solely based upon achievement. A financial based scholarship will use your financial situation as an initial qualifier (i.e. annual income) then they look at achievement.
This is a bit of a chicken and egg thing ... what comes first the scholarship or the school ... regardless of scholarships I would seek out acceptance at the school of your choice.
1) Research where you desire to receive your education. There are photo trade schools (i.e. Brooks Institute) as well as universities and colleges which offer photo degrees (i.e. Cal Arts) and related degrees (i.e. degree in communications = photo journalism - most universities offer some sort of communications degree ... the quality of your education will vary from school to school).
2) Research the schools which reflect your future goals as well as your personality type. Find your "Best Match" school(s). Select your top three, or four or five schools which you consider as your best candidate(s) for you and your goals.
3) Communicate with those schools. Talk with Admissions and see if you qualify for entrance. Talk with Financial Aid and see what the program will cost and how that particular school can assist you with loans, grants and scholarship opportunities. Don't be shy ... all schools have staff dedicated to help people find the best choice and to help them qualify both academically and financially.
4) Remember that, once accepted, many private schools will bend over backwards to help you financially attend. This may be a combo of loans, grants, scholarship and work study. And being accepted will additionally show your drive to attain your goals ... a quality scholarship award bodies place very high on their list of values ... the desire to succeed.
5) There are a ton of scholarships which go fallow due to lack of submissions. Don't just look for a single silver bullet to handle all your financial needs. I personally know of people who attended Harvard free because they had a ton of scholarships, some as little as $200, but they accrue. They have written books on scholarships and now tour the country for Harvard. So start Google-ing, there is monies out there for you ... it is your job to find and win it.

The university I used to work for suggested them to students that might need more money than what the university had available and they do offer several Photograph / Art Scholarships throught the year....you just have to search for them.
I would suggest that you start with the Places like:
Academy of Art University
Brooks Institute
Art Insitute of Colorado
{Clik on the names they are links}
There are a lot of schools i did not list....I have friends that have or are attending the last 2 schools....
Good luck
