Some 4000 office workers participated in a mock evacuation drill to test the city's emergency planning. Since the staging area for medical services was 1 block from my loft I wandered about just in time to catch the politricking photo ops for the mayor and his staff.
First Deputy Superintendent Dana Starks
NBC 5's Amy Jacobsen
Mayor Richard Daley
Paramedic (there were a few all riding Segway's)
Protestors: They smelled really bad.

Nobody could quite figure that out. They were not the brightest bulbs in the box. They were actively harrassing the cops the whole time I was there and eventually they were ushered about a block away from the press conference. When they ran the ID's it turned out two of them had outstanding warrants and were promptly arrested.
I'm sorry, but there are better things to protest in life.
I also guess I'm getting old, I thought I was a bit rebellious back in the day, but does that girl realize she has a heineken cap in her hair? Is she even old enough to drink? I don't get it. I guess I'm not just hip on the new fashions of todays youth.
Perhaps that girl should be protesting the fact that its impossible to find a place that will sell you a six pack in downtown chicago after 9pm.
Who would i want handling an emergency That cops eyes says a lot.
Indeed, he was staring right down the barrel of the lens for the frames I snapped off. He's the number 2 cop in Chicago, a force of over 13,500 officers, the second largest in the US.
