Focus stacked or no??

Yes it is focus stacked from 2 pics.
I just liked it and then realised it was quite centred so thought Skippy would like it as a slight joke
I was actually trying a different way of using an external camera mounted flash gun for macro shots. Just a sheet of A4 paper folded in half and then two slots about 3cms long cut on both the long sides about halfway down and the paper is bent and stuck at these slot pints to make a slight curve. The paper is mounted on the flash gun as shown using a length of a sticky tape stuck to itself as a strap which is held round the flash and stuck to the paper on both sides. The flash is then used with the head swung away from the lens at an angle of about 30' to 45'
Main reason for trying this was to get more side lighting and hopefully reduce reflections.

Hey there Brian look what I got --- > :skippy < --- hahahaha!
an icon named Skippy, it's just a little centered don't you think <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/rolleyes1.gif" border="0" alt="" >
Were you able to try your flash with the white cardboard out on anything else, and were you happy with the overall results besides the flower ??
I'm still wondering if its worth getting the dual flash ??
Any thoughts on the dedicated Twin Macro Flash Brian ??

Hi- Like the smiley . Yes I have used it on other things- seems to work pretty well.
Fraid I'm not impressed with twin macro flashes (at least for the money). They are great for coins and stamps etc but unless you put a lot of effort in can give flat (low contrast) shots for bugs and flowers as well as in some cases being hard to diffuse so you end up with twice as many nasty reflections. I think you would much better off with a normal flash, a diffuser, a flash bracket and an off camera cord. The flash bracket needs to be adjustable so you can keep the diffuser near the end of the lens. I actually just have a generic vidcam light bracket which I modded by fitting a small miniball to it, but I gather this flash bracket works pretty well.

Hi there again........yes I have seen your setup, and I totally agree with you on the flash thing, it seems to be the biggest hurdle to get over.
I dont have a flash bracket but the one you've posted a link to looks pretty cool, least you can bend it to where you want it by the looks of it
Not sure that Bracket is available here in Australia, I'll have to check it out on the net....... thanks for that replay Brian...... Skippy (Australia)
