Was in Aspen for a conference at the end of August. Dynamic range was HUGE and I was very glad that I brought a tripod along. These shots were taken with my 350D and Sigma 30/1.4 (for most). Post-processed with Photomatix Pro. Looking forward to your comments/critiques.

I love the second shot. You know growing up in Colorado it takes a lot from a mountain photo to float my boat and that sir is a keeper for sure!

    Thanks Ric!
Pretty small and quick learning curve to using the program (make sure you generate an HDRI and then tone map).

    Thanks Stephie,
Nice to hear that the shot went over well with a native.

That second shot is amazing. I try and fail to get those kind of results with HDR. Well done!

Wow! #2 is great. clap.gif The others are very nice as well. Makes me want to experiment more with hdr. (So far my attempts have all been futile).

Agree that #2 is the best. Is that Maroon Bells?

I just wanted to add...that while #2 is an amazing shot...I like this one most.

The only thing missing is a wolf, fox, or deer looking over it's shoulder back at you on the path. I have no trouble visualizing that though, since you provided everything else! :D

    Hey Ric,
The only animal I saw the entire time was a relative of the beaver. Wouldn't quite work in this shot though...

Yes it is the Maroon Bells - though the peaks kept hiding in the cloud cover that day.
