    I have four 256MB SD cards left (as described in this DGrin thread); I'd let go of all four for $20 total (shipping included).

    Re reliability, in several years, I've never had any flash card fail, regardless of brand -- except one time a SanDisk card (which was oddly OK again after a reformat). So unless I was going to be using flash cards in a really extreme environment (e.g. arctic or maybe rainforest :D) or maybe a high-paying gig, the brand doesn't seem to matter at all.

    (my guess is that some pros out there might "believe" in certain brands, but I've neither seen nor heard any evidence of actual flash card failures in normal use.)

    Thanks for the tip...I got worried about the one in newegg because of the harsh reviews the PQI got from its users. Now that you mentioned it, I, too never had any problems with any flash cards, but I've only owned "brand name" cards.

    I just looked thru the application, and it looks like I'll need minimum 512mb cards.

    I've started to take the newegg reveiws with a grain of salt about the size of a barn yard salt lick. It used to be that pretty much everyone that bought something there entered a review, or two (one immediately, one later) for everything they bought. These days I really only see extremely negative reviews, and extremely positive reviews that seem like they are written by folks that really aren't very technical. There are very very few deep technical reviews being posted there any more. I'll even admit to falling into that pattern myself. I've only posted three or four reviews for probably the last 20 or 30 things I've bought there, and all of them were at the top or bottom of the bell curves. None of the things I've picked up from newegg recently that were in the middle 80% of the curve got reviews. (I mean really, how many reviews do you need for a 7' cat 5 cable?)

    For things like memory cards, cdrs, etc... I've found places that do testing of a variety of cards are more in line with my experiences. Here's a couple from my bookmarks list:

    Found my SD card...actually got a 2gb 150x OCZ for $20 after rebate.
