I have some photos from a race. In the staging area, the cars light up there tires to to get them sticky for the track. In doing so the tire made tons of smoke. I would like to take the color from grayish white to a diffrent color. Is there a easy way to do this with out effecting the rest of the photo?

I would create a new layer on top of the existing photo, set the blending to color, then use a soft edge paint brush to paint in the color I wanted over the smoke. Then adjust that layers opacity to taste.
