How to remove background from Watermark

I created a water mark as instructed using cs2. Uploaded but when I add the water mark it shows the backgroun.
What to do.

Weird! It actually looks like it's totally inverted. The transparent parts are the words, and the background is opaque. I'd try one more in PS CS2 following the instructions closely and see if it happens again. Make sure it's a PNG.

It was not saved for web in png-24 format, transparent. Try that last step again, and then you should be good

if you are viewing this in IE6, you'll see the background - but in FF and other modern browsers, it's transparent.

Thanks for the help on how to do this. I was also struggling with this, your comments were most helpful.

I did find some strange issue with PSCS2. When I create the image, after deleting the background, if I resize the image, and then save in the above method, I get some strage effects/problems. If it is not a re-sized image I do not have any issue. Here are the two example.

That's because you are not linking to the original PNG, but to a resized JPG.
