The light was very harsh but I manage to overcome the problem I think.

So what's your secret of "overcoming the problem"?
boogie
No secret Andrea. I just started from 2 photos one under and another overexposured. All from RAW.
Then I put them together, one over the other, and then I erased the dark areas because underneath it was the light areas. Or vice-versa.
Then, LAB, Curves sometimes Auto, sometimes not, USM on the Lightness channel, Strike, Canvas, Text.
Keywords and Metadata come from the Bridge.
I "suspect", as I have experienced so far, that using a ND filter I can have better results under harsh light.
In Portugal, Automn has began and there is no more harsh light. As a matter of fact it only lasts about August or so...
