Hey guys I need your help in finding a lens.
I'm trying to find a fisheye lens for my Minolta SRT 201
Any ideas where to look? I'd really prefer not to use eBay.
I am Trevor and I have upgraded:
Canon 40D
Canon EF-S 17-85 IS

There doesn't seem to be mugh out there. I spent a while on Google looking and all I found so far was this:

    http://www.adraycamera.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=52

There's a sigma for Minolta mount fisheye about 12 from the top on the list.

    I also found this:

    http://www.cambridgeworld.com/lenses_for_minolta.htm

But the descriptions are weak so you'd have to call and ask for details.

Ebay is probably your best bet, or just calling around to camera stores that sell used equipment. Adorama and B&H both stock quite a bit, but they don't have any minolta fisheyes right now. Good luck,

    Fred.
Shoot, or shoot not. There is no try.

OK folks, what Ducky is looking for is older Minolta MD mount manual focus lenses.

The best source for used lenses for manual focus anything is KEH (IMHO). Go to KEH.com and click on the "Camera Store" tab. Look for "Minolta Manual Focus" link and then look under lenses to find what you want. Minolta lenses are in short supply right now after people panicked when Minolta stopped production and sold to Sony.

The 50 F1.4 MD makes a great standard lens and there are several in "EX" quality to choose from.

If you're looking for a general purpose zoom, they have the Minolta 28-70 F3.5-4.8 MACRO MD (55) / 2 TOUCH with caps in an "EX+" grade that should be OK quality, or you might try the Sigma 28-70 F2.8-4 UC MD.
