Privet Yuri!
So glad to see you here at dgrin! :-)
Also, what a great start, huh? Your picture is great! The straight look works really well, the light was very nice, and your B&W conversion was nothing short of superb!
Yuri! Glad to see you joined! This is a great place to talk about photography and not have to listen to cry babies cry about ethics and what camera you are posting from.
Just like the others said, a great black and white, fantastic range. But more than anything, his eyes are electric. They just grab you and won't let go. Well worthy of any magazine, a wonderful shot, Yuri.
Welcome aboard! Watch out for Gubbsie's wife, she'll try to cut your hair when she comes back from the pub.

Harry http://behret.smugmug.com/NANPA member How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
As others have written, that's one super portrait. And yeah, the eyes got me too. Well, they got me, but not as bad as they got Lynn :lol
I'll be looking forward to any tips/techniques/tutorials you feel like posting. Especially, if it'll make my pitchas look better Please don't suggest wearing really dark glasses when I view my pics. I've already tried it, and it doesn't help
Anyhow, welcome aboard Yuri and even though you are new to this site, I'm sure you recognize many of the names. I hope you feel at home soon :-)
Spasibo vsem (Thank you all), dear friends!
I'm very happy to be here. Of course, I need some time to get acquaint with this site and its 'widgets' (as we say here in Russia).

Speak with sweet words, for you never know when you may have to eat them....
I love the texture of this shot. It has real depth and a very real "gritty" feel.
I am anxious to see more.

i'm hoping that yuri will contribute a small tutorial on how he gets the eyes to look so good

So many actors are sporting this look lately. A good looking young man despite the attempt to look fierce. Welcome to dgrin.

Ah yes, the widgets, you're not alone, I'm still trying to sort it all out. Where's the FAQ or HOW TO page?
It gets easier with each visit.

Very beautiful shot. I like the composition too. And he's a very beautiful boy!
If he's tall (6ft plus), some western model agencies might be interested in him - I used to work for one many years ago here in the UK.
