Canon Extender EF 2x II - THE GOOD AND BAD

I am looking into purchasing the Canon Extender EF 2x II does anyone have any experience with this? Pro's/Con's? I checked some reviews and they were very "loved it, hated it" I will be using it with my Canon 70-200 2.8 L IS (Digi Rebel XT camera) Thanks!

I hated it. The images were extremely soft and the camera hunted for focus. The 1.4 TC works OK but I try to use TC's only on Primes. The 2X TC is mostly used by nature photographers on the 300 f/2.8, 400 f/2.8, 500 f/4, and 600 f/4. You will see others using in on different lenses but those are the main ones I have seen good results from.

I was very unhappy with the results of the 2x on a 70-200 IS. Not worth the extra reach--I would have been better off just cropping. It seems that this beast works best with the big artillery primes--zooms just don't work out too well, or at least this specific combination sucks.
