If you have the hardware to run it, it rocks :D It will take up a huge amount of RAM (about 800mb) plus if you have PSCS2 open which takes up more ram you may begin to slow down. My machine has 4gb so no worries there. I set the black and white points do a little curves and move the file into PSCS2 if I need to do some cloning/healing etc. B&W conversions are look great and the color control points make what would take me a long time to do in PSCS2 a snap. The UI is a little different and the working paradigm is different from anything else out there, so a lot of people discount it immediatetly. IMO the best Nikon raw converter on the market. Did I mention that I really like it iloveyou.gif All my images go through it, and it is the reason that I now shoot RAW. Download the trial and ask questions thumb.gifeven if you use other brands you can still take advantage of the color control points and B&W conversions by opening tiffs.

I watched all the tutorials...Nice software...wow...But I can't help thinking about how they modify the pictures too much.

It's like you can screw up big time and still make it awesome after, really easy.

I have mix feelings about this...I am far from being the best photograph in the world, very far :(
But when I make a picture that is perfect (or close to) right out of the camera then I am happy. Now with this I would not have to care anymore.

    Is ti just me?
    Am I being ridicule?
I guess it is no better than to hit "Auto Enhance" in another software which I do sometimes anyway....:confused

Here is my take on the whole situation... I try to get the exposure as close to right as possible. My time is better spent taking pictures rather than doing post processing. That being said NX allows one to give your pictures a little more punch without too much effort. What would take me (at least) 30+ minutes in PSCS2 can be done so much faster in NX. One thing also, depending which Nikon DSLR you are using will drive how much work you will be doing to get the most out the picture... for example the D50 probably makes the best JPG right out of the camera because it is designed for people that are stepping up from P&S cameras so the output needs to look better.... the pro/prosumer cameras start requiring the owner to do a little more post processing because people at that level want more control over the final image. NX allows you to make changes so quickly it almost feels like you are cheating mwink.gif Of course there is no clone/healing tool but NX was not intended to replace PSCS2 (yet)

The latest release v1.0.1 runs much much faster.

It is TOTALLY worth it if you shoot raw. The output is much crisper than from other raw converters that i've used. It does take a little playing around to get used to, but once you do you'll love it.
