CF card robustness

Yesterday I forgot a 64MB CF card on my pant's pocket. Obviously my wife put it to wash (usually the longest cycle) and then put it to the drying machine, where it spun like crazy (not to mention the static electricity that is generated inside the machine).
I don't shoot with that card, I only use it to take a couple of photos to the local 1h minilab.
Today I put it into my usb card reader and works like a charm...
That shows me how reliable these things can be...

Not many moving parts but one things to be concerned about what, if any,
water/soap got onto the bond wires. Might shorten the life a bit.
I wish I could have said the same for one of my cell phones :cry
