We need to take the site down this evening to re-attempt our new server Load Balancer* solution. We really apologize for the late notice, however the situation with our existing device is getting critical.
We will begin around 11:00pm Pacific, and end hopefully no later than 12:00am. The actual process takes 5 minutes, however we'd like to gracefully shut down the site and bring it back, as well as perform some tests.
Thanks for your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience. The net result should be a super-fast web experience for everyone (we've had so much server and network capacity installed recently, it's sad to see the old hardware hold us back)!
* - Load Balancers act like Air Traffic Control, directing web traffic and image requests across the many servers that run SmugMug.
