Just got this spiffy little Nokia 770 "internet tablet" it has a decent browser and a decent resolution (800x480). I think it is based on the Opera rendering engine. Anyway I thought I'd take a few photos of it rendering a few familiar sites =).

My site has a fairly tricky transparent PNG (behind the 'fotodojo' on the right hand side), surprisingly it handled that better than IE =).

DGrin!

There are some more in this Gallery. I apologise for the shallow DOF, the lighting my livingroom is a tad weak but the couch is comfy =).

Nope it's not a phone. It's basically a linux based (see maemo.org for the dev info) Wifi/Bluetooth connected internet tablet. Has good browser (poor email though) and a host of other apps such as media streaming, image viewers, google talk clients (as gizmo for your SIP needs) etc etc ..

I use it as a sort of replacement for my notebook when I head into town. It still needs a few other bits and pieces but it seems there is a pretty active user community that works on this. $349 at CompUSA =). I had someone bring me one back from a US trip, can't get them here in Oz =)

Looks a nice size too .... I like gadgets too, but alas my gadgets at this point in time resemble a very very large Aluminium Sliding Door.

Thanks for showing us your new toy........ Skippy (Australia)
