Today I went out in the field for the first time with my new German Shorthaired Pointer pup, Winslow. I am overjoyed with his behavior. Off the leash he didn't wander more than 30' from me and stayed close in the heavy brush. He also allowed me to take a few shots...and was not a pest at all.

    Thanks, Harry, on both counts.

    Funny about the squirrel thingrolleyes1.gif ...today in the woods, one crossed his path and he acted like it was nothing. I guess that's why he's a bird dog. He did keep trying to get me to go down by the river to pester the ducks.
