While I was on the Rhine shooting this:

I met up with some guys from Micron, they're building new 5 megapixel CMOS sensors for camera phones. And they were testing it out. I looked at some of the files, well, they were darn good! More later, I should meet up with them again....

I wouldn't mind a 5mp camera phone. :D Hopefully, in just short of two years when my plan is up, they'll be commonplace or atleast getting there.

Is that one of those new "beer powered" chips?

It might just be me--and being a Luddite by refusing to get a cell phone, I'm no expert--but that lens seems awful big for a phone camera. ne_nau.gif

    Oh, and great shot. :)

I'm guessing they were just using the lens to test the sensor. Either that, or its going to be one helluva big phone.

    That is very interesting stuff!

Since you've obviously been at the photokina in cologne,
can you point out some more "worth to see" things?

I'm planning to go there on sunday (when it really gets
crowded) and am kind of lost when it comes to what to
see besides the standards on my list. Its probably not
very easy to see everything in one day?!
