A short road trip in the Alps

A couple of weeks ago I made a short excursion at the foot of the Slovenian Alps. I vaguely knew the road from the map, but it turned out my map was old as a new road has been constructed recently and I just took it without knowing where it would lead me.
I started down in the valley:

Some of the trees were already turning into fall colors:

The road ascended through the forest and soon I was afforded views of the Alps:

These are the mountains I climbed many many times. They are about 2300 meters high:

It turned out the road made a loop and returned to the same valley where I came across a deserted meadow just in time for the last sun rays:

Not far from here there is a source of a river that flows through my home town further down, and I took a few pictures on a tripod as it was already pretty dark:

By then it was so dark my camera wouldn't focus anymore, so I packed my gear and went home. All in all, it was a nice three-hour trip. And the starting point is only fifteen minutes by car from where I live. :clap

Hope you enjoyed at least half as much as I did!
