Hard to compete with the birds..LOL
Don't know if we can call these wildlife (as they are domesticated) but fits with nature.
Still horsin around
They shoot horses don't they? (horrible movie IMHO)

I just learned a really cool technique in PS so this shot was a perfect candidate for the fix. How's this one for lightening up the front horse?

That was exactly what I was hoping that you were going to do... As far as how much lighter/darker one would want to do would depend one's mood that day.... I think this one is spot on for my tastes . What method did you use? The way I would have done it is (off the top of my head) is
1. Select a portion of the shadow area (marquee, lasso etc) you want to lighten (this also works with darkening)
2. Select --> Similar (This should select similar colors)
3. deselect anything that you do not want to tweak (I use the lasso)
4. Select --> Feather (choose anywhere from 20-80 may need to experiment)
5. Select --> Save Selection
6. Layer --> Adjustment Layer --> Levels (After this you should see a mask appear)
7. Tweak the middle slider left to right depending on how dark/light you want to make it then overdo it a little (i.e. make it a little too dark or too light) then click OK
8. Now adjust the opacity down to taste

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
I would crop the top of the first, I find the top left corner distracting. Just my opinion tho.
Nice work!
