There is much talent here when it comes to Photoshop CS2!!
90% of that talent I don't have. :rolleyes

I REALLY would like someone who is VERY GOOD with CS2 to help me with these old photo's!
These are scans of copies that were fixed in the FILM days before we had computers to play with.
No one knows where the originals of these pics are now!

They date back to the mid 1800's.
I THINK with todays technology these can be made better.
But not with my current knowledge of CS2.

These are of my Great Great Great Grand Parents and it's important to me to make these BETTER 8x10 printable!

Might be a opportunity for a step by step tutorial for us here at DG??
Is anyone up to the challenge?

Email me at jbolden3@stny.rr.com and I'll send ya the scans I have to play with.

Much TIA!! :thumb

I worked on this for 30 minutes this morning. I have two soccer games to shoot today and a ton of orders to process. If I have some more time I'll give it another try.

Wow... I took one look at these scans and thought these were the worst condition old photos I'd ever seen. I just shook my head and moved on! You are very brave to tackle these.

Hey look! Dgrin has a How-To section (look up on your screen)! And wouldn'cha know it, there's a quick tutorial on restoring a 1970's photo to get you started.

I'm sure some folks will dig the challenge, but sometimes its fun to search for help, roll up your sleeves and try it yourself.

I had fun with Jonathan and hope he likes his "new" look. Basically I just used a combination of the following tools in Photoshop Elements: Burn/Dodge, healing brush, clone tool, and a noise reduction filter. Lastly, I applied an unsharp mask and voila!

    Before:

    After:

Frediona is a bit more difficult to work with because she's been colorized. I didn't like how she came out when I tried to fix her photo up and will have to try again later.

Sure. :): If Jonathan is the same size as the one you placed here, then you're welcome to that copy:

But if not, then go ahead and send me the original and I'll pretty him up. I'll also try to see what I can do for Fridiona.
