So with the plans on going back to Florida to see Harry in Feb I figured I should actually process the rest of the shots I took last year. Out of the 4000 I took I have 12 I think are good and a couple hundred so-so shots. Now that percentage sucks. Here is one of the shots I thought was pretty good.

What do you think?

Hey Nick..........that is a real nice looking bird thumb.gif
I'd love to go shoot with Harry too.
The low percentage of keeps might also be because we tend to be far more critical of our own work than others are.

When we find out for sure when the next Dgrin ShootOut is are you planning on going Nick ??? ...... Great bird shot Nick, won't find birds like that in my neck of the woods unless they are immitating seagulls rolleyes1.gif

Thanks for the kind words Skippy. Of course I'd love to go on the next shootout but I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford it.

Nice capture Nick. thumb.gif I'm in the same PP boat. I didn't take that many shots at MI3, but I've still hot hours and hours of processing to catch up on from a 2 day visit. That's only part of the back log of PP work I have. I'm sure I'm down a few thousand shots to process.

Looking forward to this years shoot. Hope you get a chance to make it down again. We'll have to put you on some of my osprey chicks. Don't knock your photog abilities. I'd tell you if your shots were worse than my grandmother's. eek7.gif:D

Terrific shot Nick. thumb.gif That was at Gatorland if I recall correctly. We'll bring your average up this year. It would be easier if you shoot a Nikon but we will work with what you got. biggrinbounce2.gif

Very nice Nick. Great color in the eye, great light on the back, lovely bokeh in the background.

    What's not to like??

A lovely shot of a bird that I think is hard to shoot well. thumb.gif

I think last year was such a bird overload that I pressed the shutter at anything that moved. I think I will be much more restrained in 07. As for Nikon, I seem to be drawn to it. A lot of the people I have shot with shoot Nikon, but I'm content with my canon.

I've already been thinking of shots I want to get in 07. I like this one of the Anhinga but next time I wat to get one with it warming itself in the sun with its wings extended. Thanks for looking Jim.

That's a keen observation Nick. One of the disadvantages of a target rich environment is that one gets trigger happy and snaps away w/o thinking about the shot. I ran into that one headfirst on my first trip to the rookery.
