Tranquility shattered

A quite walk along the river down stream from our property taking pictures of water birds and suddenly from around the bend this appears, playing with shutter speeds it was set at 1/500.

    great shot .. i hate the tranquility was gone but that's a sweet boat..
    what the heck were they doing besides trying to die quickly?

    My neighbor and I were both shooting wildlife yesterday and he caught an almost identical shot ( different boat ) but in color.
