Young skater flying through the air at the local figure skating competition. It is very difficult get quality results from such events as the venues are quite dark and yet I cannot use flash because this could blind the skaters.

    I have learnt something about monitor calibrating due to this image.

    Despite it being really white an iMac user pointed out he can see all the hockey lines. I was shocked and tried to reproduce it. Sure enough, when I play with contrast and brightness on the monitor the white stopped being white and revealed underlaying ice rink marks. It is very extreme and yet I wonder how many people who view our pictures have the monitors so badly calibrated they see elements in our photos we normally dont.

    By the way this site is quite good for Monitor Calibration
