I personally love it when I get the timing right and get the shots of the bike with the heatwave spilling out the back.
Any critique on what could make the shot better?
I see the heat wave
Check out the concentration of the riders face what a great capture
Im sure you had a great day at the race..... Skippy (Australia)
Great capture. Nice, sharp and good color and, as mentioned you can really see the look of concentration.
I don't shoot bikes, so this may not apply but I'll throw it out anyway. Usually I prefer not to have the subject looking directly at the end of the frame. So, just extrapolation from other sports I do shoot I would have liked to see what this shot looked like with a little more space in front of the rider for her to look into rather than the dead space all behind her. It especially strikes me when you can see eyes. As a viewer, you get drawn to eyes and then you naturally follow the direction those eyes are looking into and then bam you hit the edge of the frame right away.
Anyway, just a thought. Still an amazing photo. Great job.
Everything's good about this shot but the bike has no place to go in the
frame. I still like it though.
I have to agree...although I don't like to sound negative. The eye is pulled out of the image immediately by not having a place to follow through with the action. Very good otherwise!
