What's the best way to carry my camera and some lenses (and possibly a large 180mm macro... I need to get a 50mm) while backpacking with a large 60+10 Lowe Alpine pack?
I'm aiming for waterproof but also weight. The pack is heavy, because it'll be filled with a lot of things. A 4 season tent and sleeping bag, a stove, water filter, etc. (I'm so excited about getting my new gear! I was aiming at low weight, but when I realized that I would be doing snow packing, I decided, I can hike, rest, and hike more, besides, it's safer to do that anyway in the winter. Allow your body to adapt to the air.)
Also, what forum would I chat about backpacking gear?

more stuff...
But seriously. Maybe getting a Lowe TLZ2 to carry the camera in might
work. When I was doing more backpacking, I would carry the camera in
a separate case that easily fit on the shoulder strap. Try not to take too
much extra stuff. Maybe stick with a medium zoom, small tripod (like
one of the REI backpack models) an extra battery and cf card. The later
you can put in a baggie or maybe a small plastic container.
If you'll be headed somewhere cold, make sure you keep the camera
batteries warm until you're ready to use them.
