I am trying to post a link to a forum. I am logged OUT of my smugmug site. However when I test to make sure the link is good, it brings me back to the original gallery that is non public where I moved the photo from in the 1st place. Is there some reason, even if I close my browsers and paste the link in that it continues to do this? I wouldn't like for someone to go to my private galleries this way. Or... ? As I said, I'm logged out and I closed all by browsers. I'm assuming it's just some weird glitch that it only does that for me? :scratch

Here's the link:
http://motoximages.smugmug.com/gallery/1578575/5/100538441

But when I click on that, it takes me to this:

motoximages > Other > Web usage no proof

gallery pages: < 1 2 3 4 5

    Hi J-bo,

    OK So this URL:
    http://motoximages.smugmug.com/gallery/1578575/5/100538441

Is a gallery link to a private gallery. The gallery is not found on your homepage: http://motoximages.smugmug.com/

But it is accesible if anyone has the link. It's fully explained here:
    http://www.smugmug.com/help/private-albums
In your home, privacy comes from drawing the drapes. Security comes from locking the door.

On SmugMug, you can set any gallery to private and it will not show up on your SmugMug homepage or in searches. It's like closing the drapes on your windows at home - no one can see what's going on inside, but that doesn't necessarily mean you've locked the door and set the alarm. They could just walk right in.

You can also set a password for any gallery, or your entire SmugMug site. By setting a 'password' on a gallery, you've now locked the door. Anyone visiting that gallery will be required to enter a password to see the photos, otherwise, they'll be blocked access.

These options can be mixed and matched. You can have a password set, for example, so everyone needs to authenticate, but you can have 'privacy' turned off. So people can easily find the gallery, they just can't easily get in. If you flip the scenario, people can't easily find the gallery, but they can easily get in. Only by using both together can you make it difficult to find and difficult to get in.

Now, if you want to post the photo link only, in a forum, you'd use this link, found via "share with links, forums, blogs"
    http://motoximages.smugmug.com/photos/100538441-S.jpg

    100538441-S.jpg

And they do not have a link back to your gallery, only this photo.

    Does this make sense?

Here is what I'm supposing happened. The "link" for the custom poster gallery wasn't finished updating yet when I copied the URL is what I can figure out. I gave it 15 minutes and went back through as the public would and it's now a different URL than the URL I 1st posted.

I have the correct URL now to the galleryhttp://motoximages.smugmug.com/gallery/1974113/0/100420436 where I want them to be taken. I've turned OFF all the shared links and stuff as everyone was pilfering the photo's that way, even with the watermark on them.:nono

    Thanks for the help.
