For some of you this might not be a big deal?

But in my area Bears are rare but seen now and then.
I've been hearing of sitings in my area but I've yet to see one in person.
Well just below my Dad's house yesterday afternoon my Boy spotted this guy in a berry bush 100ft from the road!
I just happened to have my Camera with the old 80-400mm rigged!!:ivar

At 1:30pm in the afternoon the sun was all wrong so I did my best.
Kept my distance at about 50 yards.

Awesome!!! clap.gifclapclap.gif Nothing like a big old bear walking down the road to get your attention, eh? :yikes

I was always looking for bear when I lived in NY. There had been various bear sightings in our neighborhood, but I never got to see one. You not only got to see one, but you captured the moment extremely well. thumb.gif

Just a word of concern......NEVER do that again!
The Mother can out run you and she will seriously hurt you if not kill you!

Yeh I felt relatively safe as I was literally stood at the door of my car and she seemed very comfortable... sitting down an munching on leaves, I was ready to make a very quick exit.
But Im sure lots of people with Bear scars would of said something similiar, sometimes the adrenaline removes the fear!
