Hey Skippy,

I know you wanted some sugar crystals. But they're sooooooo boring.

How about some nice home-grown potassium chromate crystals instead?

I'm working on some others. Takes time, though, and sometimes the danged things BREAK before I get them mounted. Or, like the ascorbic acid crystals, they just kind of blob around and don't form anything gem-like.

And, unlike my old days in water treatment when I had access to all kinds of crystalline entities, all I have in bulk is a leftover 10-pound can of iodine (used to sanitize some cooling towers, but it's about 50 times more costly than chlorine).

I'm gonna have to break down and get a polarizing filter set some day. Ya can't play with crystals all the time without a polarizer!
