For a project I did in Studio Art (Photo 5-6) I chose to try out product photography. Here's the 3 images that I turned in. To get the white background I had a piece of paper under, 2 pieces standing up on the sides, and one piece standing up behind it. I then took 2 little desktop lamps (that use little halogen bulbs) and pointed them at the paper (left and right sides). Then I used my pop-up flash for fill.

    Great colors and angles. clap.gif

But, I would think that the DOF should be greater for the product. The last one would be much better if the candy itself was in focus (IMO).

    Yes, I agree
Try an f/11-16 as all shots you see the back of the product starting to lose focus..since there isn't anything in the background to distract from the product a smaller aperature would be the ticket.

Nice looking Candy Can, can't see I've ever seen that brand over here in Australia ....... you did well with obtaining your white background thumb.gif

The focus has shifted with all three shots, the thing that detracts from the first image is that the back of the container is going out of focus, as does the writing inside the lid it move focus from shot to shot.

All up you did a pretty darn good job :D ..... Skippy (Australia)
