I just got back from a couple of weeks in Chicago. As always, the main attraction for me was the architecture.

The reflections on the facades of the buildings create some interesting scenes.

While I was there, I picked up a Canon 17-40 f/4L lens. :barb It is really sweet. Here's a shot of the Crown Fountain in Millennium Park (17mm).

I did a lot of shooting with the 17-40 downtown. From Navy Pier:

Shot from a boat on the Chicago River:

Finally, I was out at Belmont Harbor watching a storm approach. Just after I shot this one it dawned on me that I was going to get soaked if I didn't get back to my car in a hurry. I didn't quite make it in time.

C&C always welcome. If you like these, check out my New Pics Gallery on Smugmug for more. I have only started to process the pics from this trip and will probably post others in the near future.

Cheers,

Great shots (like the architecture as well), and it shows that you had quite a bit of fun with that 17-40!
enjoy being here while getting there

Thanks for commenting, Marlof and George. And yes, I'm having lots of fun with the 17-40, though getting that hood into my bag is a bit of a hassle. :D
