Smoky Mountains (TN). We go every year, usually a couple times. I've never actually been in Oct until this year.

We saw a black bear. 5 of them actually. A group of 2 on 2 different occasions and 1 by iteself. Here's what the bears look like... (I was about 75 feet away...they seemed to be ignoring everyone)

...and here's what the people that see them look like! LOL

On the main road up the mountain into the park, people stopped in the middle of the road to look and take pictures of a bear way up a tree. Traffic was literally backed up for miles because of the people blocking the road!

We went to Dollywood to ride the 68 year old steam train. It looks and sounds cool :) The story is, it was in service in Alaska during World War II

And finally, a couple snapshots from downtown in the evening. Everything was snapshots really. I didn't have time to take really nice photos since my wife and 2 year old son where with me everywhere we went.

Speaking of 2 year old. Here's the bandit! It was extremenly difficult to get him to sit still for pictures. The Minolta A200 they were using wasn't quick enough to catch while he moved. I should have let them borrow my Nikon D200 to take his pictures! :D

Those one way roads are cool. Really help with the shots too.

Were you able to go to the aquarium? If so, how was it?
