Well hello there folks. Its my first time posting in the journeys section so I will try and make this as fun and interesting as possible. This last saturday my friend Logan and I made our way up to Sturgeon bay at the buttcrack of dawn (7am is early for me ok folks :rofl) and got in at about 10:30ish after stopping in Stangellville, WI to pick up some of the best beef jerky in the state. The town literally has a bar, church and a meat market. I stocked up on 2lbs of jerky and 2lbs of beef sticks (1lb hot and the other mild) for some photo food.

Our first stop was Potowatami State park, which has lost some great color due to wind storms over the past couple of weeks.

Here is a huge 10+ image pano from the top of a 75ft tall firetower on a tall (150ish foot) bluff. I used photoshop's photomerge.

Then after that it was on over to lunch along Sturgeon Bay at the illustrious AppleBees. Then my friend Logan and I tooled around town and waited for dark. We set up our cameras and did some night shots on the bridge.

We then mounted my camera to my tripod and stuck it out the sunroof. The effect wasnt to bad and it was quite a cold ride. :thumb

Then it was off to the State park again to go shining for deer. Only saw a cat but hey.....you cant win every time. I have never seen so many stars in my entire life. It was breathtaking.

Finally we drove back down to Green bay for our Motel 6 rest.....though it never came. The beds were so hard and the place was scary. We got maybe 4 hours of sleep and showered and left by 5:30am to catch sunrise in Sturgeon Bay.

    Day 2

So we went to the Canal Lighthouse in Sturgeon Bay for sunrise. It was awesome because no one was out there but us. It was so peaceful. This pic isnt the best but it is all I have worked on so far.

Then it was off to breakfast and making plans to head up the door to the tip of the peninsula by Gills Rock. We hit up a bunch of stuff along the way, including the Cana Island lighthouse.

So other than that we hit up an abandoned barn and some other stuff but I dont have any pics yet.

So I hope this has been entertaining for you and you like the photos. I leave you with this candid shot Logan took of me on the ride home. That there is an Amp Big Rig, which feels like a 40oz and really gets you hyped up. I had 3 that weekend.

That is the way it works some times. People can be a little shy at first.

I really like the first three of the trees and the Canal light house.

If you post them- the comments will come.

Looks like the colors were getting intense up there. Your nice photos make me sad I missed going up this season. When we make the trip, we usually stop at Renard's Cheese (not the one in Door, but the main location south of there).
