Hi all,
I've been asked to shot some pictures for a brochure. It's an artisanal shop specialized in metal works. These are the first three. I'm workin' on the actual products shots and some more "background" pictures. Would like to know what you think about it. Thanks. :D

Hi Judah dont use those frames will you, they look tacky for the subject your shooting.

The images look a bit soft to me ?? I'd like to see them sharper.

Hopefully you will get some more comments on these shots.

    Number 1 has my vote
A thought just occured to me.....take it as a friendly suggestion :D....what if you could capture one of the machines or tools in motion....doing whatever they do? I agree with Skippy....the frames don't work for these shots. I like that they are in B&W. Coolness.

    Hi Skippy,
thanks for your comment. Sorry but english is not my first language so I had to look into dictionary.com for "tacky".
    Which one applies here?

tack‧y2  /ˈtækthinsp.pngi/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[tak-ee] Pronunciation Key – adjective, tack‧i‧er, tack‧i‧est. 1.not tasteful or fashionable; dowdy. 2.shabby in appearance; shoddy: a tacky, jerry-built housing development. 3.crass; cheaply vulgar; tasteless; crude. 4.gaudy; flashy; showy.
I'll probably crop the images a bit, the frame is just the negative carrier's edges showing up during printing. In fact the scanned version are less sharper than the actual print, I suspect that my cheap scanner is not doin' a good job here.

    Cheers. :D

PS: the dictionary quote wasn't meant to be snotty or offensive, I'm really curious to know what did you mean with tacky. Really.

Hi there Judah, the word Tacky is used as slang even though it is a real word, it's used quite often as slang.

Wow Im amazed at what you found in the meaning when you looked it up.

I meant that those frames do not look good around those shots you posted, they might look okay on something else but they real don't do anything for your shots..... what a cool project for you, I'm sure your finished product will look just fine thumb.gif ....... Skippy (Australia)

No prob Skippy. Unfortunately the negative carrier has been modified and there is no way I can turn it back to its original shape. I'll have to buy an easel for those photos who don't need burnt edges. Thanks again for your comment. Very much appreciated. :D
