Anybody have experience with Kirk and Really Right Stuff Arca swiss compatible L brackets? Price is the same, so is there any difference?

I buy Kirk and am happy with the quality and range of products.

I'm a satisfied RRS customer. Great products, very good customer
    support.

RRS is only available via mail but you can often find Kirk products in the
better camera stores. Is that good or bad? I don't know.

I think that's the general consensus. Pick one of these two and you'll be
fine. And honestly, the only reason I don't have a Kirk is because the store
didn't have the one I needed.

I think you're right. Certainly more believable. Do you think it's the funny
    accent?

Sounds like you need the new new 'Borg-Bod-a-Pod', It's a cube shaped device that sits on top of your tripod and add's 4.5kg to the weight, raises your camera six inches and, er, assimilat's Kirk or any other head onto the top.

The Borg-Bod-o-Sphere didn't work out as everything just fell off.

    If you use a handstrap
RRS recently has been designing their new L-brackets to include a cutout to accomodate the strap of a camera handstrap. Their earlier design (below pic of 20D) forced one to screw a knob onto the old-style tripod hole in the L-bracket base.

The 30D L-bracket, for example, allows for a much cleaner installation.
