I love it!
Love the idea.... but background *might* need work.
I am sure you can reshoot with better lighting and background.
Really love it.

There's a bit more to it. But that's the idea.

I love this idea!!
Way too funny!

There is a whole little scene there. It makes it so real. Come on who puts a pumpkin on black velvet after they are done carving it? No, you put it on a counter top.
This picture is wonderful. I laughed so heartly when it was in the challenge thread. I called my brother down to see it, he said he was busy and I pursisted- so he came down annoyed but after seeing this picture he said "It was so worth it."
Wonderful, made my day.

The black background makes everythng appear to float. I, too, don't know if I like that. However, I do think the eyes on this version are better. Not as washed out as in the first.
Overall a great idea.

Wow!
Thankyou everyone for your feedback, I'm really moved to have had such a positive response it has taken my motivation to take pictures to an entirely new place...
I'm going to stay with the original, I really value all the comments and the choice is really tough, i took a few others, but just like the first.
I'm sticking with it because after I carved the pumpkin (Bert) I took the shot, and like the fact that he was on the counter where he was carved, in the kitchen, which just feels right to me
Sadly, a few minutes ago, he was consigned to the bin, looking a bit worse for wear, so...
Bert is dead, long live Bert! (may he rest in peace)
Thanks again
Rob.
