I love photography and would welcome any words of wisdom you might have.

Thank you for looking.

When I took the picture, I didn't realize that this humming bird was eating ... look for the bug!

    Welcome to Dgrin!

    Nice series.

The first and the last could benefit from a fill-flash to bring out the colors and benefit for a faster shutterspeed. In the last the crop is a bit tight.

It would benefit the picture if the behind of the baby if the last picture participated in the frame and it would be less soft if you use a faster shutterspeed.

    Thanks for sharing.

The light in the first shot does not bother me. You could bring out some shadow detail with shadow/highlight in CS2. The second shot is excellent timing. But all three are on the soft side. Did you sharpen these at all or are they unprocessed?

    Thank you.
None of the pictures are processed.

I'll give it a try this weekend and see if I can make an improvement.

    Thanks.

Yes, on the first, shadow highlight, desaturate, increase contrast balanced with darkness. This will make a very nice contrasty B&W.

The 3rd like said before seems like you have way too slow a shutter speed. You need to keep that in mind when shooting handheld or moving things even when on a tripod.
