It's nearing the end of season for viewing White Pelicans in the San Francisco
Bay region.

Getting a late start this morning meant not too much time before the
bright late morning sun.

They're really fun to watch in flight.

They'll sit as a group and wash themselves then one or two at a time,
fly off to eat.

Of course there's always opportunity and who better than the Northern
Harrier to take advantage?

Hope you enjoyed seeing a few of the locals!

Fine shots Ian especially the harrier capture. We don't usually get white pelicans in my neck of the woods. They are a lot prettier than our brown pelicans.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Thanks for the replies!

Harry, the story on the harrier is that I rarely see him. Especially so late
    in the morning.

Gotta run over to Google and see how the spaceship thingy is going...

Well then, I guess I'd better get down there! I still don't have a long zoom. They sure act differently than the brown pelicans!

Hi Ian.........we get those White Pelicans in my neck of the woods, I never knew there were Brown ones till one day I saw someone post one on Dpreview rolleyes1.gif ....I'm sure there's no kangaroos loose up in the top paddock, but honest I thought all Pelicans were Black & White rolleyes1.gif

    Nice series ............ Skippy (Australia)

    Thanks Glenn!

Skippy--nothing loose upstairs. I think they're called white because all folded
    up, they look white.
