Sequoia Park -Rock...what do you think?

Hi,

I recently went up to Sequoia National Park...this picture is from there. Please critique.

    Don't you just love it when you ask for a critique and you aren't in the in crowd so no one helps you.
    IMHO the picture is good. There is good depth but everything is too centered. Something in the picture needs to put into one of the thirds.

    The composition isn't bad, but the real problem is the light. It's flat, mid-day light, and so it comes out kinda "blah." The unfortunately reality of landscape photography is that most of your shooting takes place within an hour of sunrise or sunset. Of course, the good thing is, you often have time to shoot, come back, have coffee, and then go out for a hike with the wife/dog/kids/whatever :-)

    Yes, i agree, the light is kinda blah....and I was trying hard to put something in the 3rds, but was tough since I was trying to get the Moro Rock up on the right top as well.

    Lesson learned....good advice..thanx
