Has anybody tried the Sing-ray vari nd filter? It is a single filter that is twisted to change from 2 to 8 stops of light. It only comes in 77mm threads and is very expensive for a filter at $340, but seems like a very useful tool.

I haven't tried it yet but I'm about to order one myself. I have heard nothing but raves about it.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I have one. Works very well. My only complaint is that you cannot add another filter in front of it, because it lacks threads.

    Behind should work, right?

Thank you for input everyone, I have higher priorities at the moment but i plan on ordering one in the future. I think it would be great for water flow shots, and experimenting with still objects with windy flora going on around it.

I've had mine about 6 months.

Works great. Much more convenient than a set of different grads.

I needed an 82mm (Andy's fault) and they were happy to make it. I use step down rings for smaller lenses.

Two linear ( non-circular ) polarizing filters, rotated properly, will do the same thing of course......
