last soccer pics for awhile
since my son broke his thumb and is out for the season, these are my last soccer pics for awhile...
it might be a shortened season now, but i get more keepers now than i did when i started last year so it was a good season for me, bad season for my son

you needed your thumb to play soccer, unless you play goalie? Hope your son is OK. Nice shots by the way.
Looks like I am going to be shooting some girls lacrosse in the spring, my wife is being recruited to coach a travel team that my daughter will play on.
Great piccies too!
great shots too to help remember the shortened season.

Kudos!
thank you very much!
I never brag about my images coz i feel they all pretty much suck......
but i think that these images taken with a 20D are about as good as you can get... so im proud of that!

Love your soccer shots...was wondering what equipment you used???
thank you kelly!!
I use a 20D, A sigma 120-300, and a few prayers......

I also shoot soccer action...
Do you use a monopod??? I have a 70-200mm and also a 20D. I get these type shots sometimes but would like to get them more frequently... I take shots handheld right now...
Thanks!
K
i do use a monopod. I used to use my 70-200 f/2.8 IS, but needed more reach. more son plays on a u13 league and the field is huge. When i use my 20D i consistently get more keeprs if i use the sports mode (with AI servo). Now i know in that mode you dont have much ability to change anything but using Av ot Tv has not worked for me as reliably. many
'pros' or "people who know" say to use Av mode with AI servo and switch the shutter lock to the back dial using custom 4 ( i think ). That has never worked well for me.... so ill stay with letting the camera make most of the decisions for now....

I will try that-Thanks!!! I actually have a 70-300mm IS--not awake yet...
