Off camera flash w/o an on camera sync port?

I was wondering if its possible to use sync cords or pocket wizards with a camera that has a standard hot shoe but no sync ports of any kind? I was wanting to get started in off camera flash, but my camera has no pc connector or sync ports of any kind. I was hoping they make an adapter that connects to hot shoe.
Best regards,
douglas

Yes it is easy....just put the PW or radioslave on the hotshoe, all the current models fire from PC sync or hotshoe, where you run into trouble is when you want to use on camera TTL flash AND off camera wireless at the same time. With Nikon and high end Nikon speedlites it is easy because a lot of Nikon flashes have a PC connector on the flash. With Canon it is tougher but not impossible, a few companies like Paramount cords make a modified off shoe cord which allows TTL corded near camera flash, and a PC connector for a radio slave or wire off camera flash.

yes for around $10 there is a hotshoe adapter that has a sync post....it has a shoe like your flash on the bottom and a regular shoe on top with a post on the side.

This does do away with ALL ttl and programing of your flash and makes it totally MANUAL, so you will have to shoot your camera in totally manual also.

here is a LINK to a Tutorial by Shay Stephans.

    hope this helps.
