Located in NW New Mexico, this is a wonderland of strange shapes and formations. This was my first trip there. I'll be back.

Here are a couple of samples. I have posted a few more here.

Enjoy, and thanks for looking.

Looks great! I'm torn -- I like the formation in the first photo, but I prefer the colors in the second photo...perhaps, if you go back, hit the first location around sunrise/sunset? Just brainstorming...looks like a great place for photography, and you've captured a couple great shots. Regards,

    Thanks, Moylesm.
With hundreds of interesting areas to choose from, I finally just stopped and took what was avaiable where I found myself. A better knowledge of the place would be nice, but there are no guidebooks that I could find.

    Nice find!

Bisti is a rare gem indeed. Not many people outside the Four Corners region know about it, fewer still ever go. Some great Motocross and Mountain Bike action out there as well that only a handful of folks know about.

    Shhh!

The four corners area is a curious mix of ugly, weird, and beautiful. The road between Bloomfield, Farmington and Shiprock is nothing but urban blight. The rural landscape is full of oil/gas rigs and industrial crap. But then there is the Animas and San Juan Rivers, Angel Peak area, Bisti, and who know what else hidden in the wilds of Navajo country.
